    It’s still supported by the 580 driver for a few years. But yes, after that it will be in a rough spot.

      Yes but that line will never receive feature updates again, only kernel compatibility and security fixes. That also means there is no chance for any VRAM usage improvements on a driver level anymore.

        Fair enough, but I wouldn’t call it abandoned just yet. Long-term support on Linux is clearly a big advantage of AMD/Intel open source drivers :)
