God I wish the IP didn’t belong to EA. It has so much potential, I always wanted Alice 3 to be a Soulslike personally but I know American McGee himself had some ideas already for Alice: Asylum to be the next installment. Shame EA doesn’t give two fucks about the franchise.

That would definitely keep me from buying it; I can’t stand those sorts of games. I did like the first two, though, and still have the CD for the first one kicking around.

In an alternate reality, people played Sid Meier’s Alice and American McGee’s Civilization

I mean, his game is called “American McGee’s Alice.” Saying “American McGee’s Alice creator, American McGee” is a bit wordy and repetitive.

I know I get that, its just that Alice is both the name of the game and the name of the character, one of which he created and the other he didn’t. There’s not a great way to phrase it, but it makes it sound like he created the character Alice, which he did not.

She is named after and inspired by the Alice of Lewis Carrol’s books, but she’s a very different take on her. He created this version of her.

In no sense of the word would anyone ever say he created Alice. It could be called an interpretation, not quite an adaptation, but probably just based on characters by Lewis Carroll.

As far as title artistic licences go this case is by far on the good side in today’s age - it’s not even:

Youve insulted multiple people in this post. But nice try.

Yes legally that is the full title, but in the actual logo art it’s a very small “American McGee’s” and a big “Alice”. Kind of like all the “Sid Meier’s” games. They’re named like that because they didn’t want to risk trademark problems with simple names.

The article contains all the context that is needed. You can’t have a full blown article as a title.
