You can actually specify in your website what images should be used for embeds like this. They’re called Open Graph Tags.

They’ve specified one that isn’t in the article. (probably to make you scroll more for it and see more ads, or less maliciously this preview was generated when this image was in the article and it has since changed)

The image itself is a screenshot from the trailer.

This is an awesome move. My only concern is the support for my Logitech racing wheel. It just works on the XBox. On PC, it’s quite a bit harder to deal with.

Seriously, have you tried it on Linux? Nowadays older hardware seems to be better supported on Linux than on newer Windows versions.

I tried it on Ubuntu and Bazzite. This on super old hardware. An AMD RX570 on a Core2Quad with 8GB DDR2.

Although, it was just as bad on my 10th-gen Core i5 with a 6600XT and 32GB DDR4. I’m not sure I even got Assetto running on it after 8 hours of trying to make .Net 4.7 install on proton.

Those are definitely some impressively low minimum requirements for a 2026 AAA game. Curious to see how it’ll actually perform on Steam Deck though.

Motorsport runs passably on the steam deck. With the higher GPU requirements I’d be surprised if the steam deck can manage it.

Now directly mentioning the steam deck gets me a bit optimistic. Maybe they’re gonna try optimizing for it. Or maybe that was just a typo.

That’s a pleasant surprise, I was fully expecting it to be borked based on Forza Motorsport 2023 being borked.
