This is kind of interesting: With BioWare being a Canadian company, the leader of the federal NDP, Avi Lewis, tooted his view on the shut down. Mostly to say private equity sucks, but also:
The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity - and the federal support - to buy it and run it themselves.
I don’t know what was involved when Microsoft let Double Fine go independent instead of closing it, but it would be nice if BioWare got the same option from EA (even if EA probably wouldn’t let them have Mass Effect and Dragon Age).
It doesn’t matter what EA does because no one should buy EA games anyways.
They were already a shitty company before the Saudis bought them, if anyone is still dumb enough to buy their games, they deserve the slop they get.
Ru suggesting we don’t lend Bin Salman a helping hand? Things have already been going south for him lately
The video game industry is heading for a crash. I can feel it.
Shame we won’t have any defining game that will be buried in a landfill this time around.
This is why they’re killing physical games, so that we can’t even do it ourselves symbolically
AGAIN?!
Haha, didn’t you hear? Time is circle.
It’s more so that crashing a market helps consolidate ownership so it’s advantageous to do it if you have capital.
Oh my, nobody expected that. 🙄
We’re going to need a bigger boat…

Damn. That is a lot of my childhood right there.
Thus the reason it is a common phrase among millenials to say “EA is the Devil”
Nope, no one indeed.
However, I can’t even be disappointed that the studio has closed. To me the studio has been dead for a long while now since EA’s acquisition and the co-founders leaving.
I certainly didn’t expect it to take this long, so that’s something…
You recalled me about Bullfrog. They killed it. Bastards!
Maxis and Westwood for me.
Bullfrog was legendary, but considering what Peter Molyneux’s got up to after leaving I don’t think they had much more left in them even if EA hadn’t bought them.
