There’s a difference between govt agencies and public organizations as compared to a private game company though. I wouldn’t want the former using discord either, but it’s honestly not a big deal and pretty understandable for the latter.

I agree with you, but the point I’m trying to make that most people here are missing, is that we are a minority. The average player is fine with and already has discord, and there’s an argument to be made it provides less friction than making users sign up on a website or send an email.
