Hi all. I recently came to Bazzite after being a Windows snob for, well, ever. The single player games I play and Hell Let Loose work great, but I am struggling to get my racing sims to work. All the games are through Steam, howver I think it is likely to be the non-native support for Simhub, Moza and SimLabs Race Director software. Are there any sim racing Bazzite users here that could offer some advice? I have tried a few online guides via YouTube, but I’m coming up short. Any advice would be appreciated.
Moza hardware should be plug and play on Linux and be easily configurable with Boxflat (https://github.com/Lawstorant/boxflat). At least that’s the way it is for me on Manjaro. I really have no idea if Bazzite might be problematic though because it’s immutable.
Considering Simhub and Simlab I have no clue. The last time I checked Simhub was not working on Linux at all.

I use pithouse, most games work.
No workaround for the cheap amazon handbrake works but that is more the cheap handbrakes fault, works on windows
Iracing and WRC don’t work, neither does f1 and a few others.
I play the crew motorfest, dirt rally 2, asseto corsa (mods are less finnicky on windows, im swapping), beamng (beammp works on windows, swapping their too), most free and cheap on sale or key games worked otherwise. It was mainly an anticheat issue, the wheel and settings function better with the third party linux app for me for moza.
I dualboot and swap to windows when I want to play iracing or wrc, it takes a minute maybe, on a second drive to avoid issues. 90% of the time I just play somthing linux compatible which includes most sim racing games.
Thats what I’ve been doing. It isnt really an issue because I have a decent system and I probably wont get much if any of a performance gain, just want to be less reliant on Windows.
I’ve never had the wheel not work if the game worked, it’s often just a calibration issue either in game or in settings, some games are finnicky
I use aurora os and an thrustmaster t500rs.
You have to make sure that the wheel is recognized by an program called “oversteer”
As soon as i made that work, every game just worked… Even live for speed thorugh “bottles”
Oversteer was what made it all work for me as well on fedora
Bazzite might be the wrong distro for you. Being immutable means you have fewer options for building out specialized hardware support.
You could also try using Bottles to make yourself a dedicated Bottle/prefix for your sims. You would then put everything you need — games and tools — inside that Bottle. There are many ways to do this, but I consider Bottles the easiest to learn and use.

I have an OpenFFBoard wheel and many many peripherals and all games I’ve tried apart from those that are actively hostile to linux (EA WRC, iracing) work fine. I don’t use sumhub though. From what I understand I guess it does work? https://github.com/srounce/linux-simracing-utils There are also some alternatives but I’m not directly familiar with any of them.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to clarify that I’m not a Bazzite user, I just use vanilla arch. But I don’t really think there are significant differences when it comes to this. Except if you can’t install some of these tools, in which case you might choose a non-immutable distro since hardware often requires light customization beyond what Bazzite might package.

I don’t do racing sims but with Train Sims I have used other accompanying software, and modlaunchers etc. in the past. I assume Simhub etc. are programs that launch the main game or run concurrently.
If you want to install it semi-manually, have you tried setting it up with Lutris? Set the wine prefix to be a folder insids your steam user folder steamapps/compatdata/[gameid]/pfx on the drive the racing game is installed. Other guides I found:
