    On the other hand, without Molyneux coming up with a constant stream of weird ideas and forcing the devs to implement them, chances are it’ll lack that magical whimsy that made the originals so beloved despite their many flaws.

    It’s hard to remember after his decades of repeated failures, but Molyneux actually did make good games at one point. It just required someone above him to overrule his dumb ideas and limit the scope creep when it came time to ship.

    (Also all the talented people under him who did all the real work.)

      George Lucas could only make good Star Wars when he wasn’t powerful enough to push his JarJarEwoks over the objections of people who know better.

        Really wanted to say the same thing. George Lucas and Molyneux are the same person when it comes to working. They have good ideas, but they need to be filtered into something presentable.
