Picked up The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. So far it seems to be a nice little German point & click adventures.
I’m giving Marvel Midnight Suns another try. I didn’t like it when it came out, but I’m more OK with it now. It has elements from a lot of games I like. But it doesn’t pull them off quite as well as the other games I like. I’ll see how it goes as I get further in.
Age of Empires 2 DE is an addictive brainworm that eats up hours like nothing and turns your mind to mush
I just started Kigdom Rush: Vengeance, the fourth game in the series. I really enjoyed 1 and 2; 3 was ok, and I’m enjoying 4 so far. I like that you can mix and match towers in this one. So far the sand worm is my favorite tower.
Overall I still like Kingdom Rush Frontiers (second one) the best, as the balancing was really well done and I absolutely loved the pirate/beach part. I also really like the necromancer tower and having an army of skeleton minions
XCOM 2, again. Why? Because I felt like it. With mods of course.
Esoteric Ebb. If you love Disco Elysium you’ll love this.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had any time for gaming at all, but this past week I’ve actually had time for two gaming sessions which has been awesome.
Hitman: World of Assassination
It’s my second most played game of all time, so when I finally had time to play a game this one was the first that came to mind. I’m actually missing a ton of achievements so I’ve been working at getting those. I think I managed to pick up the rest of the easy ones now, it’s just all the mastery ones and some hidden ones left. So I’m still less than halfway unfortunately. But that’s okay! I’m excited to work for these ones, hopefully I find the time to continue.
Medal of Honor (1999)
After seeing a post on Lemmy that someone finished a fan remake of this game, I decided to check it out. I’ve only ever played Airborne from this series, and quite liked my time with that one, and I’m having a blast with this one too. I’m so far two levels into it. No idea how long the game is, but it’s a ton of fun. It’s also got me in the mood for more shooters, but I’ve been out of the FPS scene for years so I don’t know what’s good anymore. If anyone knows of a good single player FPS with good gun controls that’s not owned by EA/doesn’t need a launcher and third party account to access, I’d appreciate it. I used to love Battlefield games, but that’s EA. I also used to love Titanfall, but same issue. Then I thought of the newer Battlefront games, but again, yeah. I don’t want CoD either. I’ve already played DOOM.
Wreckfest. Its mindless and fun car racing with crashing. The successor to Flatout 2. (Fixed typo)
It takes my mind off the complete disaster this month has been, both globally and personally.
Trying to get into A Hat In Time, which I bought ages ago and didn’t really get into.
Not sure I’ll see it through this time, either. It’s a bit twee.
Thank you for that word. It perfectly describes an impression I’ve had about things for a long time.
TNMT: Splintered fate. Isometric hack&slash, supposedly similar game mechanics to Hades. Fun!
I’ve put a few hours into it and quite like it. It’s a bit of a kiddy’s first Hades, but the art style and voice acting is pretty good, and the game play is engaging enough.
I finished Race Driver: GRID! I got all the cars, won all events and got both myself and my team to the top of the leaderboards. It was fun but I definitely need a break from this title, a LONG one.
I’m still thinking about what to tackle next. I’m leaning towards either Shantae (the original Game Boy Color one) or Shadowrun: Hong Kong but my brain is rather fickle right now so I might end up playing something completely different. So many games to choose from…
I’m still deep in the Withering Rooms trenches - almost literally now (although I can’t say more without spoilers). The game is just absolutely excellent, and I am even starting to get used to the janky and clunky combat. I’m in Chapter 4 now and starting to get some kind of idea of a possibile endgame, although I’m sure there are plenty of more mysteries and secrets and twists to uncover. I also know there are multiple endings, but I am still unsure what decides which one you get as I’ve just been playing blind and I don’t feel like I’ve locked into anything yet.
I know it’s a completely different game and a completely different vibe, but this game’s exploration is giving me almost similar vibes to back when I was first exploring Dark Souls 1. An interesting and dangerous world, weird ass NPCs, distinct art direction, mysteries and secrets, world building and story in item descriptions, locations that connect through shortcuts and link back to previous areas… It’s just great.
Next on the agenda is exploring the extremely cursed attic, but I think I might need a dedicated gear loadout for it as my default set gets overwhelmed by curse damage after just a couple of seconds in there. After that’s it’s the endgame, I guess? Can’t wait to see how it ends.
