I think it’s a good metric to let people know that the machine can hold its own and will likely be the kind of specs that developers will target.

I don’t see any problem with that. The worlds’s lore could just be told through different sets of characters eyes.
I don’t even pay attention to game lore anyway. So as long as gameplay is good, I’m alright.

I read somewhere that Mac started to get more support for previously windows only apps once they hit 5% market share.
It’s been like a decade since I’ve read that, so who knows the source.

This is still a stretch. Don’t consoles also have issues like this? What about the red ring Xbox 360s? Didn’t ps3 have issues with Skyrim saves becoming corrupt?

Before the steamdeck my gpu was an rx 740.
I never needed to tweak settings on a per game basis.
Just go into game options and hit auto detect or select a preset.
It’s really that easy.

None of those are things people have to deal with except in very rare circumstances. All the driers are basically handled by windows update or are already in the kernel.
You do not need to do anything with antivirus these days.
Windows 11 makes you sign into an account, so do the consoles.
Pairing a Bluetooth controller technically is something you need to do, but let’s be honest. Is it really challenging?

I don’t think there is really much fiddling these days. It’s probably about as much as setting up a console.
If you build your own, then sure that’s more work. But people can buy prebuilt, laptops, or handhelds.

Console gaming is so anti-consumer. Who would prefer to use a console if they are even the slightest bit savvy with a computer?

I would have bought this, but it seems to have some compatibility issues with Linux.
I also own these games for GameCube, so I figured it works just be better to play my backups.

I keep forgetting this game came out. I guess it was bad as no one’s really talking about it as much as people talked about civ 6.
I got my start with civ 5.

Thanks! I have all that prepared as I was ready to reinstall.
I’ll try this first 🙏

If gog had regional pricing, I’d have bought it there.

Thanks! How do I boot into a live environment? Is it an option from the boot menu?

I live outside the US so with me regional pricing it’s like $12.
Now, my steamdeck will not boot up.
It was glitchy after a decky update so I’ve got to fix that first.

For a while, I’ve also just wanted to use igpus since my gaming demands are not that extreme, but they were enough that older igpus couldn’t handle it. The steam deck was the first machine that could do it for me.
Unless I want to start running ai models in my home, I’ll skip the gpu.

Maybe they will use the stream machines name as an umbrella term for all their “consoles”. I like that name too.

I agree with you, I typically only leave a review when something is terrible as a warning.
I’ve never left a review for stardew valley and I have around 500hrs or so.

A week after my 55 hours of flights 😅

I don’t think cds and dvds hold data for too long. I guess it’s better than a hard drive.
Same as consoles. Sell at a loss to increase game sales and earn more on the backend.
