Did anyone see the MASSIVE rumble/haptic motors in the grip area? Yeah. This is the answer. They packed a lot of stuff in there.

If you’re unfamiliar with the channel, their content is top notch and very consistent. They’re also champions of consumer protection and investigate shady bullshit going on in the tech sector.

Actually, I remembered that on PC at least (arch btw) it wouldn’t even launch natively, so I forced proton.

I never had an issue on hollow knight. Both on PC Linux and steamdeck. Might be an older issue?

Thanks, I’ll try fiddling with it. I’m busy as hell and don’t have much time to play so I haven’t even checked the in game settings to see if it’s enabled. I’ll keep poking around. Thanks for quality reply.

I enabled proton 9.0-4 (steamdeck btw), and loaded up my save and let myself take damage a couple times, still no rumble. I honestly was so excited to play an hour yesterday that I didn’t notice if I felt any rumble or not but I don’t feel it now. Taking damage triggers it right?

I’m sure Cherry is going to be working rapidly on numerous bug fixes over the next month.

Thanks for this, I’ll definitely dig in further

My solution? Run Linux. If the game won’t run on Linux because of kernel level anticheat bullshit, DRM, or lack of proton support, refund that shit and never purchase a game from that developer again. If they do data collection, and it still runs on Linux, it is my understanding that all they can gather is what the proton compatibility layer feeds them, which is basically fiction. Proton is already tricking the software into thinking it’s running on windows, and is sandboxed from your bare metal system. Correct me if I’m wrong.
The games I already owned before my time with Linux? Whatever. I’ll take the loss. I’ll probably never play PUBG again and I’m fine with that.
And it’s essentially perfect. Just slap the game files in the correct folder and go. Support for modern screen resolutions, runs smooth and stable.
Edit: it also has access to multiplayer. Hop in the official devolutionx discord to find friends to delve with.
