Bit Reactor, the studio behind Star Wars: Zero Company, is laying off employees once again. A month has passed since the return of some developers who had previously been put on unpaid leave.
I also thought it looked abysmal relative to its hardware requirements. Low-poly objects, below average textures, poor effects like depth of field that looked like from a PS4 game, lots of pop-in (including every time there’s a cut in a cutscene), glitchy physics (again any time there’s a camera cut), bloated and poorly animated default Unreal Engine faces, etc.
It looked and ran so much worse than Star Wars Outlaws on my pretty powerful computer, which isn’t exactly lightweight title and also open world. Then again, Outlaws probably had 10x the budget and uses a bespoke engine, so it’s not exactly a fair comparison.
The turn-based combat is excellent, there’s other way of putting it, but the poor tech and the laughable exploration aren’t doing it any favors. I have to admit, I didn’t play it for long enough to be able to say anything about the story, but based what I’ve read, it seems like it’s very strong.
Either way, this is a game that sold pretty well, so even if I wasn’t blown away by it, it’s still awful what the people who made it have been going through since release.
Yeah, I ghosted her after the Jedi stopped getting powers and all the unlocks were the same for each. Feh. Back to the shitty ex that is XCOM, I guess. 🥲
The game was fun until all the things you expected to open up didn’t.
The overworld navigation was just dumb.
I wish they’d been allowed to make the game they wanted to make originally.

Hell, even if Nexus (et al) has mods, it’d take a Starfield quantity to fix it up to mildly entertaining, IMHO.
They got a slop quota?
Nah, it’s human mediocrity spawned by contrarian, irrational mgmt.
The team size locked at 4 got boring fast.
Yes. The game just like … teases you then leaves you hot and bothered
