Has anyone played Over the Hill? It sounds interesting, but I feel like it could go either way.

I can vouch for Outcast Tales. It’s a good game.

I played the demo for Over the Hill and enjoyed it. As others said it’s pretty calm and slow-paced. It’s not really about firm objectives, but rather you decide where to go and what route to take. Some people don’t like the physics but I thought they were okay. You’ll probably want to upgrade tires and suspension right away since the game is all about traction on rough terrain.

Anyway, try the demo if it’s still available, since it’s free.

It’s pretty good - really chill and pretty detailed as far as vehicle mechanics go, though I do think it’s a bit easy. But I also think snowrunner’s easy, so this shouldn’t be a problem for the average person.

Over the Hill seems good, I briefly played the demo a while back, since I enjoyed the previous two games they made.

The hour or so I put in was pretty chill, a real change of pace. The mechanics with manually changing low/high and the sliding take a little bit to get used to, same with the winching. I’ll probably get it once I’m done with my current game, I enjoy the graphic style, the controls seem reasonable, too. My only concern would be how much of a grind the updates to the cars are, I hope on the lower end.

On both previous games the developer also released a bit more content over time.

I played the demo and the main issue i have is that i dont like the driving physics which was also an issue for me on both their previous games. I really like everything else about those games. But imho the physics are just ass. Its not about realism as in too simlike or too arcadey for me. They just feel off and unfun. I never feel i can predict my next move. Be it the next corner in Art of Rally or how to approach a ditch in Over the Hill. Which is fine at first. But beeing able to predict and succesfully reacting to that is imho quite essential to car based games. Which i’m usually quite successful at in most car based games after a few hours. But never managed it with funselektor games sadly.

But i’m fully aware how positive the reception for these games are and i’m a minority in this regard.
