I beat Morrowind last week for the first time! I’ve been trying to get into it for years and years and it never clicked but I finally got the hang of it and I’m totally obsessed now. This game is seriously incredible. I’m messing around with lightly modded Morrowind now (just the I Heart Vanilla pack through OpenMW) and it’s been great. I eventually want to do some of the bigger content mods too, but there’s so much about the base game I haven’t explored yet, and I have barely touched the DLCs too so I have a ways to go before doing content mods.
I’m messing around with an alchemy build now and holy shit it’s overpowered. I get the memes now. 3.5 hours in and I’m a god already, and I don’t even know all the exploits and stuff, I’m just sort of playing the game normally just with some alchemy mixed in and I’m already insanely wealthy and strong, it’s crazy.
I thought it was great. I really liked how after entering Dagoth Ur you hear his voice almost like an intercom. For a game with very little voice acting I’m glad they did a lot for him. From the Ghostgate to Dagoth Ur was a bit annoying but not terrible by any means. Those stupid enemies with paralysis were the worst part for sure. And those enemies that drain strength were also quite annoying. But otherwise it was really fun. And it felt awesome too, and I love how people in the overworld actually recognize what you’ve done, unlike in some other games (cough Skyrim cough).
I totally forgot about Young Scrolls. I’ve heard that song before (and others) but completely forgot about it. Cool to hear it after hearing the lines in-game. Thanks for the throwback.
You have at least three entire playthroughs-worth of content to go through with Tamriel Rebuilt. It adds the rest of the entirety of mainland Morrowind for you to explore, which is about twice as much land area than base game Vvardenfell. There are tons of new towns and cities, quests, NPCs, locations, creatures, etc. in the mod.
And there are “sister” projects like Skyrim: Home of The Nords and Project Cyrodiil, whose aims are to rebuild the entirety of those provinces accurately based on lore from the time Morrowind came out, withinMorrowind itself.
Whenever I play Morrowind I use Galsiah’s character development mod. It replaces the horrible leveling system with a system that automatically levels you and your attributes based on the skills you use. That way you can pick your major and minor skills and actually use them without worrying if you’ve leveled misc skills enough to get a decent multiplier on level up . I consider that a must have mod.

What did you think of the ending? MW has my favorite TES main quest, Dagoth Ur is such an interesting bad guy.

Vanilla Skyrim is the best game ever made (I mean it)
If you haven’t heard it an artist called Young Scrolls uses voice lines from the games to create songs. The one he did for Dagoth Ur is amazing

I’m very excited to try TR. I haven’t done any research in the other two you mentioned but I’ll look into them too. Thanks for the recommendations.

I’ll definitely keep it in mind, thank you!
