With the current prices of PCs it seems that PS5 is a better investment. But I looked at the prices of PS5 now and it is not available anywhere. The places that do sell them, they sell it at around $1300. Is the Pro really worth it at this point?

No and no. Even if you don’t plan to recuperate the expense by pirating games - something that is easier on PC than console - Steam and GOG sales are frequent and prices get significantly lower. Don’t throw money at a company that attempts to give you nothing in return.
I am buying to jailbreak and the ps5 pirate store makes it easy to download all the games.
invest on a pc. it’s still cheaper long term and lets you do whatever you want.
it’s your life, but both choices would be supporting a company that’s actively helping to destroy the gaming industry.
