I switched over to Linux Mint a few days ago. While the game doesn’t work ‘out of the box’, it doesn’t take too much to get working. And boy does it work - it’s loading up quicker than on Windows and seems to be more responsive while on a map too.

I only had one CTD, which was while testing one of the newer mods but I wasn’t able to recreate it afterwards. I’ll call that a significant win.

    You know, I bought the collection from GOG when they had 2000, 3, and 4 in a bundle…

    I haven;t played since 2k on DOS, and should probably try the newer ones.

    I was a fan of MAXIS, but pretty much wrote the series off after EA got involved.

      They’re definitely worth giving a shot, though I hear they have a different feel to the earlier games (one that isn’t entirely just due to the graphical jump). 4 was where I started and I found it immediately intoxicating, though it definitely took me awhile to get the hang of it.
