A server glitch banned Switch 2 consoles out of nowhere this week. But the incident reopens a bigger question: who actually controls the hardware you bought?

Getting banned from an online service isn’t quite the same as locking people out of the hardware itself though

Without the service what can you use the hardware for? Play the games you already downloaded?
