So I have played this game on my PC perfectly fine before. I just uninstalled it to make space for other games. Well I have decided to reinstall this game and it only gets to the launcher. Once the Ubisoft launcher opens it tries to run the game and then quits. It gets stuck in a cycle of those two things.

I am really not sure how to troubleshoot this issue. Any help would be nice. I will be researching on my own while I wait on replies and will update this post if I find a solution.

edit: forgot to mention I am using mint.

edit 2: umm… i verified the files and now it works fine??? i will accept this. hopefully it remains working.

edit 3: i have since closed and restarted the game. it has once again opened up fine. Verifying the files on Steam actually may have fixed this.

    If memory serves. When launcher updates when you launch, then it wont start. Have to wait update to compleate, kill it and relaunch. I suspect error happends on launcher restart routine. But not sure.

      Would make sense. It is working now without me having to do anything too technical. Seems it just hiccuped and recalibrated.

        I have the same issue on Kubuntu 24 LTS. Every time (so every day) there is an update the game fails to launch. Have to verify integrity of games files and then i can play again without issues. Until there is an update (so the next day usually). So far it has been a problem with rockstar and ubisoft titles.
