IMO, canceled games are a bummer, even from publishers we don’t like.
Oh good, yet another $300m disappearing into the ether. Wonder if this will also be a tax write-off
Did it disappear though?
80 employees in the LA game market. Probably not all engineer or engineering related but plenty of managers and such, average salary plus benefits was probably 250k/yr at 6 years that’s 1.5 mil per employee so half that 300 mil was probably employees. Equipment and office space and software licenses. Any marketing materials they may have already invested in. The money didn’t just go poof, it paid people and other companies.
I’d largely assume it disappeared into the black holes otherwise known as the C-Suite’s bank accounts.
That’s great, I love when Tencent faces huge losses.
Just from the screen shots it looks more like a darker cyberpunk … Not sure that would compete with GTA
Not sure that would compete with GTA
Not really, but that won’t stop prople from making that comparison. The number of comparisons Cyberpunk 2077 got to GTA V at launch were insane considering how different they are.
It’s an open city sandbox game from the perspective of a criminal/outlaw. It’s not close like Saints Row, but it’s still a general comparison os opposed to like an FPS
I would hate to see what tencent would classify as GTA style edgy humor.
