My brief overview of the new Halo remake. It’s genuinely fun but doesn’t give me high hopes for Halo Studios going forward.
Its Halo… there is the bad guy go shoot it. Everything else was always paper thin.
It is very pretty trash that shits all over the franchise’s legacy.
Most of it is pretty damn fun.
The johnson missions are so bad and the writing is somehow on a level of shit I’ve rarely seen in gaming. It’s just awful.
They changed A LOT in this remake and it’s just so bad it detracts from the core experience of what the original game was. I’ve seen YouTube breakdowns of the changes in level design, mission structure and design, and dialogue changes and it’s pretty bad.
I mean, I guess it’s still Halo, the gunplay and combat is timeless, but the overall experience is definitely tarnished for an old player who loved the original.
