There’s this revolutionary new technology I guess the start menu gamers haven’t caught onto yet known as “cloud saves” which make it a lot easier to continue playing games on different devices and through uninstalls.
I bring my home directory with me across installs, but I never felt the need to continue on a year-old save. Across devices I can maybe see, if you have both a gaming PC and a Steam Deck, but I think that’s a fraction of players and I don’t think I’ll join that group any time soon.
