I realise that my keyboard has some dodgy keys when I tried to use my administrator password, so I don’t actually know for sure what it is 😬

A significant mistake! Luckily there’s no real setup issues or anything and I’m happy to reinstall - the only thing on there is my steam downloads which will take ages to download again

Is there a way I can save those files and reinstall bazzite from my original thumb drive installer so that I can fix my mistake this time?

How were you logging in to the machine without knowing your password?

Like how did you get as far as downloading steam programs if your password never let you login?

I’m confused at the timeline here.

Did you give yourself Sudo privileges? If so you can use sudo passwd root to reset the password.

Hmm… I might have actually asked about the wrong problem. Im logged in with the only user account on the machine and that’s an administrator account. I actually do remember and can enter the password for this.

I don’t actually recall setting a root password for the account which is probably why it’s failing.

I encountered this when updating bazzite, after it’s done its thing, it asks if you want to press R to reboot. When I do that it asks for the sudo password, which I guess I don’t have? What should I have done/do now?

Hmm, any idea why it might not be accepting my password in this case? I’m using KDEConnect to interact with the machine, maybe something there 🤔
