I would second the bazzite OS over pop. I have used both (and still do) but bazzite is much more stable an imaged based system. I have had multiple updates go wrong in the past with popos over the last 5 years. Pop is also not recieving the attention it used to because the system76 team is focused on making a new desktop environment (DE) for PopOS (which is awesome but) that is taking some time and considerable resources away from the OS. Even when the new DE does get merged into to the OS I would imagine it would still have some issues to iron out.
Where bazite is good now and its about as uncomplicated as it gets with linux.
I would even go as far as saying I have more success running games under bazzite than PopOS in its current state.
