I’m sure we’ve all seen the posts about the upcoming developer changes on Android and the panic about it affecting emulation. I’m curious if I’m the only person who’s tentatively thrilled that this might make Linux the better choice for high end handhelds. I prefer Linux on an ideological and ease of setup and use. My biggest complaint is of course battery drain. But if this gets more eyes on Linux I’m curious if something like Rocknix will have better sleep function on handhelds like the Odin. Just thinking that this could be the silver lining of all this

Yeah, honestly the only two Linux handhelds I’ve heard with good battery life are the trimui brick and smart pro, I have the smart pro and can attest the battery life is really good

Damn. And it looks like the SmartPro is cheap and compatible with Syncthing. That’s my main problem with multiple device ownership is keeping saves across devices. I might grab one at some point… good lookin’ out!

Russ from Retro Games Corp as a video on setting up Syncthing for these emulators. He usually have a written guide that following these tutorial videos so you can look it up on his site instead of going to YouTube.

disclaimer I haven’t watched the tutorial though, but with my limited experience with syncthing, I would guess Russ has some things specific for emulator devices.

For sure, I’ve done all the purchasing so you don’t have to lol

P.s. if you’re getting a smart pro, I recommend getting like a silicone case as it has a heat sink and the back can get uncomfortably warm imo
