Also figure by then things like GameNative/FEX will be more refined. I have an rp5, I can be patient.

Oh, that would be pretty silly to put a dpad there. 😆

I have a New 2DS. That nub is neither accurate or comfortable.

The problem with the Thor and a lot of other handhelds is that you have to sacrifice ergonomics for portability. No matter which way the inputs are arranged on those sides, it’s going to be uncomfortable because you need proper grips for comfort. Look at a modern Sony or Xbox controller for example, and you see how the main inputs are all places diagonally within the area that your thumb naturally arcs while the grips are resting in your palm.

Or as another example- I have both a Miyoo Mini Plus and a Retroid Pocket Classic. The MM+ is one of the most uncomfortable devices I’ve ever played on, while the RP Classic is actually pretty comfortable. The only thing that makes the difference is that the Classic has bottom area that extends just a little further from the buttons.

If I didn’t already have an RP5, I would want to get the RP Flip 2. I suspect that’s probably one of the most comfortable handhelds to use without grips because it gives so much space to the controls as is. I also like that it has a Wii U style layout, which would probably be good for dual analog games.
