I’d just like to interject for a moment…

Lol, didn’t they say after the layoffs that the game was still gonna keep going? That didn’t last long.

At this point it’s usually just whenever i feel like it. Probably at the very least once a month on average.

Mixed refresh and vrr with mixed displays is one of the big reasons to use wayland lol, because X couldn’t do it.

Bruh, just bought an DP to hdmi adapter a few weeks ago lol. This is good news regardless though, hopefully this hdmi mess is finally going to get fixed at some point.

Ok, so what did xlibre achieve then? Is multi-monitor with mixed refreshrates + vrr a thing yet?

Don’t know why you got downvoted. This is the sad reality, not just for gaming, but boycotts in general. They rarely work because the majority just doesn’t give a shit.

This post made me realize that i guess i"m not that picky when it comes to controllers. I’ve mostly used playstation controllers all my life because i’ve been a console gamer since i was a kid, even now with a gaming pc i still have a ps5 as well. Playstation controllers have always been fine to me. Also have a switch pro controller for my switch which is fine as well. When i go back to ps4 or 3 controllers i do notice that the dualsense is the most comfortable in comparison, but after using an old dualshock for a while i can easily get used to it again.
Also, i might just be very lucky, but i’ve never experienced stickdrift on any of the controllers i’ve owned. The only wear and tear issues i’ve ever had was the rubber from the joysticks on my ds2 being completely degraded, which makes sense after all those years, and my ds4 had the button on the inside of the trigger break down. Ended up replacing that and it worked again. I should probably get some new rubber sticks from aliexpress for my ds2 as well. Would be nice to restore it since it’s the only legit ds2 i have, and it still worked fine from what i remember.

Declaritive, reproducible proton config? Nix:

Yeah i just watched the LTT video and it doesn’t actually look that bad when he’s holding it. I’ll probably be sticking to my PS5 controller since i don’t really have a good reason to buy another one. Now that i think of it, i remember initially being sceptical about the PS4 and 5 controllers as well when they came out, but i always ended up preferring the newer design. PS4 controller felt uncomfortable after using the PS5 controller, and the same thing happened going from 3 to 4.

Ps5 even advertises 8k, because some easy to run indiegame might be able to be run at that res lol.

I guess with the steamdeck’s touchpads in mind this design makes sense, but damn does that thing look bulky lol. Maybe it feels more comfortable to hold than it looks.

After reading the title i was like “wait, is this about the game, the programming language, the movie, or corrosion?” Too many damn things called rust these days lol

When it comes to this i personally tend to agree with what Brodie Robertson always says in his videos about SteamOS. It’s kinda silly to keep waiting for an official release when things like Bazzite exist, but if the SteamOS release helps with more people making the switch, then that’s still a good thing in the end.

The nice thing about gta 4 on linux is that you don’t even need to manually bother with dxvk, which people also use on windows because it improves the game’s performance.

That’s awesome. Not a fan of using upscaling tech generally but since they keep trying to improve it, i might give this a try on my 6950xt out of curiousity.
Well, if it was used to prolong the life of your gpu it would be nice, but unfortunately it seems to be mainly used by devs so that they don’t have to optimize their games, so the end result is people with new gpus get blurry crap, and the older gpus get left behind all the same.
Are you using any custom launch options? I’ve had this happen sometimes when i tried running a game with gamemode, but then it turned out my gamemode was broken, and when that happens it doesn’t start your game at all and it just stops immediately after gamemode exits with an error.

I used to install it with bottles and it seemed to work fine (but i haven’t really played it apart from testing if it worked), but bottles gave me some issues as of late so i decided to install the ea launcher as a non steam game. It didnt work with regular proton but after using ge-proton the game booted just fine. I now have a weird issue where jedi fallen order doesn’t work though. Tried both bottles and steam, but the game immediately crashes with an unreal engine error. It’s weird because i have played it in the past on linux just fine.
Yeah it’s wild that the freaking government posts this shit. This looks like an edit i would come across when i was still an edgy teenager scrolling on ifunny back in 2013 or something.
