wait for it to come to the hardware you already own and pirate it. lowest cost option by far.
We’re already getting PS5 emulation going at a decent rate.
The usual mistake in console-versus-PC math is comparing the console price to the GPU price. A GPU doesn’t boot. You need the board, processor, power supply, case, storage and memory, and memory is the part that has gotten more expensive for reasons nobody in your living room controls.
If you need this advice, the answer is to buy the standard ps5
If you don’t own one, buy the console. The PC path isn’t cheaper once you count the memory market, the unknown requirements and the possibility of a slipped date. A decision built on three unknowns isn’t a plan.
I really hate this take. If you’re looking at playing this game and only this game in a complete vacuum, the console is cheaper [if you don’t already own a PC], but suggesting that buying a PS5 is a better general purchase than a mid-tier gaming capable PC if cost effectiveness is a concern is just wild. I guess if you’re someone who buys games on day 1 all the time and only plays AAA titles, it doesn’t matter much, but if that’s you, why are you reading this article? You clearly have plenty of disposable income. For someone on the fence about this, the PC almost definitely makes more sense overall unless you specifically want to play PS exclusives and don’t care about any games that aren’t coming to PS. The up-front cost is higher, but you make up for it many times over in what you save on games in the long run, assuming you’re thrifty with your game purchases. This isn’t even mentioning peripherals, or the cost of Playstation Plus or any other similar costs.
Disc or Digital. The Digital Edition is $50 cheaper at list price, but it has no disc drive. Physical copies can be resold and lent. Digital copies can’t. If you expect to flip GTA 6 after finishing the story, the disc console is the better deal even though it costs more up front.
There is no disc version, they previously announced that the ‘physical’ edition is a box with a game code. You can’t let your friend borrow the game let alone ‘flip’ it
The AI that wrote this article would be very upset if it existed past the context window used to produce that article
No it wouldn’t. It would just say “you’re absolutely right!” And then amend its conclusion to say exactly what you pointed out.
The blame lies with the editor who published this slop and assumed they did their job’s pay-worth of effort.
