This really sucks. The future of a lot of 2010s gaming consoles depended on vulnerabilities being found in early versions of firmware - where they were likely to be made, since most features were built in those versions - that never get patched through to later releases. We probably shouldn’t be surprised that sloppers are self-centered, greedy, and lazy enough to publish this immediately to Sony, since they probably think they deserve credit for being the AI race horse’s owner. Fuck the millions of console owners in 10 years, I guess.

Does kind of suck having someone pull the rug out from under you and an overall positive you were trying to do for the community so they can get a quick payday… but getting scooped like this happens in life. Assholes are gonna asshole, because “if they don’t do it, somebody else will”.

And sure this is the last discovered hypervisor bug, but in a software as complicated as the PS5 firmware, you’re gonna find more eventually, especially if/when they add features.

Nobody thought a software bug was ever gonna be found in the XB360, and now we have BadUpdate taking literally seconds to exploit your console from a USB - I mean it did take 20 something years for the right person to come along and try it, but the point is it’ll happen eventually.

    Andy Nguyen

    🚮

I didn’t have to read it. This the same narcissist that quit PSVita development because a friend leaked an alpha publicly he meant keep still in QA. Are all Sonyfans NPDs?

though, I do agree in using the insult «slopers»

the repo could easily be cloned and work could continue on the project

    What would be the point?
