I was learning Blender Character Modelling for my novel’s cover and… Pshhh! I have done the head, and a massive head-ache struck me:
If this was the head, imagine the body. The hands. The feet. The cloths. The scarf.
What the fuck, man?! I thought it was a piece of cake. Oh, goodness, I shoulda learned to draw instead!
Imagine how hard drawing is tho, you gotta make a (usually) 3d image from flat lines on paper… literally creating depth and detail and texture from nothing. Art doesn’t come easy to much is why it’s so rewarding and very human, and it’s why AI art will never be considered real by anyone serious. 😂
Who the fuck takes a look at a digital sculpture and says “that was a piece of cake”? Do you also look at famous paintings and say “anybody coulda done that”?
Yes. With time and energy and being depressed three days a week (with Naruto sad music in the background), I believe anybody can do it.
Believe it!
i do a little environment art as a hobby (no you can’t see it) and it’s a goddamn nightmare. with how miserable the tools are it’s astonishing to me anything ever gets done. if digital 2D art was that bad nobody would do it.
Oh brother, the hair, face muscles. Oh my goodness, THE ANIMATION! INDIVIDUAL LIMBS! groooooooan I should just stick back to writing (novels) and writing only.
and now check out this masterpiece made in blender https://youtu.be/J4ACew5GlNA
This is exactly why people wind up using AI, your abilities are better spent writing. There’s nothing wrong with using other tools in areas where you aren’t as good, but yes, a portion of people will hate you either way. Do what you like, not what other people say they want, you don’t need to spend 100 hours on a cover just to appease people mate.
Yes using a soulless machine to replace human art generally should be despised.
Yeah, why learn a new skill rather than letting a machine do it for you half as well, while also destroying the environment and tanking the economy?
