Transfered from Feddit.ch as they closed up shop unfortunately.

Needs a GoG release as it looks great

Steam has it in their EULA that you only license your purchase.

Not on GoG??? I’m never buying any more games from Steam as they aren’t DRM free

You might like the Divinity Original Sin series

Are you saying that when updating your system with the GUI system updater that the flatpak update will be in there too? Or do you still need to run flatpak update in terminal seperate?

Gulikit King Kong Pro 3.
I have the 2 and think it’s amazing in general and for Linux. It’s really high quality, the buttons can be swapped for different layouts, I believe the 3 has a 2.4ghz mode instead of only Bluetooth, and it’s firmware based. You change the controller settings with different button combos and don’t need software (that’s never available on Linux, looking at you 8bitdo) and you can update the firmware on Linux too.

Opt-in analytics to be accurate

Benchmarks online tend to show very minimal performance difference between distros. The main difference with gaming distros will be ease of installation of gaming stuff like gamemode, etc. Some distros also have a Steam Picture like mode if you prefer that. Besides the “gaming” stuff, the distros are otherwise just a normal Linux experience so yes you can install a VM software like normal.
Bazzite and CachyOS are two popular suggestions. Bazzite is a Fedora atomic spin for gaming and has specific images setup for your hardware. CachyOS is arch based and has optimized packages for your specific hardware

Tekken 7 is on Steam and rated gold on ProtonDB. However the minimum system requirements look to be pushing your system so I don’t think you should bother with it. Definitely don’t try emulating it as that’s even more difficult.
Tekken 3 you can indeed emulate on the PSX. Download Duckstation from Flathub and learn to set it up. An alternative to Duckstation that can play more systems is RetroArch.
Find the game from the ROMs Megathread or Vimms Lair.
Good controllers that work on Linux can be found from Gulikit, 8bitdo, Retro Fighters.

How are you trying to install it? Is it a Steam game? Are you trying to emulate it?

This website makes it easy to install hundreds on mods onto OpenMW on Linux. I haven’t had a single issue

Heroic works very well indeed. I locked Anno1404 at a specific wine-proton version to keep it working with a big mod. Quite simple to figure out

Good to know. I’ll start to give them another serious look

Like others have noted, the firmware updating doesn’t work on Linux. This is why I like Gulikit King Kong Pro controllers. Their settings are adjusted on a firmware bases by pressing different buttons together on the controller. OS agnostic. Also their firmware updates only require dragging and dropping a file into the controller when connected over USB. It works totally fine on Linux.

Wow, I thought the project died. I’m glad it’s still hear. The feature set looks to be the best of these style devices

If the point of it is indeed a learning project then it makes sense to me.
A side note: The free market and competition making products better are both good arguments too but my counter to that would just be that PCSX2 is just so good and mature.

Why do we need this? PCSX2 works great and is very mature

Was waiting for a GoG release!
More adoption from big companies will likely make these big e-sports games reconsider making their anti-cheat compatible with Linux which is essentially the last hurtle to get people off of Windows.
