Maybe B4 tried something new where instead of a 2 minute restart, it fucks up your game for up to 15 minutes?

Gearbox has also issued a piece of advice to PC gamers that to me reads like an effort to prevent players from making knee-jerk reactions to the game’s performance as soon as they’ve changed their settings: “Please note that any time you change any of your graphics settings, your shaders will need to recompile. Please keep playing for at least 15 minutes to see how your PC’s performance has changed.”
Pretty sure if that’s really happening, it’s a unique problem
Maybe if you’re changing just resolution, but for 99% of setting changes it has nothing to do with shaders.

If there’s just no system settings, you may try looking into mods, or learning how to manually edit the config file yourself?
It looks like for windows you can use opengl or a special launcher. I’m not sure how different it’ll be for you, but seems to be a common problem so someone has likely found a solution somewhere.
Not sure if Lemmy is big enough for someone to come tell you, but whenever you figure it out maybe edit you post with the fix so this stuff can start building up here.

Regardless of what kind of monitor you have, it should have gama/brightness adjustments.
It’s really weird those minor changes became such a big deal, especially since there also seemed to have been real performance hits and other issues.

But I got it on PC launch and didn’t really notice anything bad after tweaking settings.
Mindsete (from what I’ve seen) doesn’t even have good bones, everything is shit except cutscenes visuals and the content of what they’re saying sucks.

Now that almost all games are downloaded, they can be as huge as they want. So optimizing for file size is often the first place that gets cut. You might not keep a huge game installed, but it’s rare to avoid buying a game due to file size.
churn out a “quick” remaster, try and beat Skyblivion to completion, and milk the cash cow dry. It’ll almost certainly be a muddy sepia, soulless, bugged to all fuck travesty.
