Meanwhile I haven’t gamed on windows in years. Currently on my 5th playthrough of Elden ring - but this time with the seamless coop mod. With a manjaro desktop and a steam deck.

Holy shit. I guess I really do have to play it. Elden ring is my #1, my favourite game ever.

Hot and miss for sure. I have had games run better than on windows, and also worse. But there are too many other pros to running Linux to make me happy I’m not running windows.

I hope I can afford it, because this is shaping up to be exactly what I want out of a VR headset. “Open” (meaning not open source but like… valve has a tendency of “do wtf you want with it”), Linux, wireless, and well… Valve. Huge advocate for open source and choice and valve has just nailed this all these years and VR is starting to look mature now.

Game developers should focus on making good fun games without pushing the envelope on graphics, or maybe work more on optimizing things.

Microsoft should focus on not making windows a bloated piece of shit that consumes so much memory.
