GOG does not have a Linux launcher. There were some rumblings about focusing on Linux development when there was a change of hands, but we still have to see anything coming from that.

However, GOG does host Linux builds of games where available.

The only way to be sure is to save it on a quartz matrix. Only issue is it’s read-only. Not rewritable ever. Once you etch your data into quartz that’s it.

Storage is amazing, though. All of human knowledge (so far) has already been etched into such a storage medium by the UN a few years ago. It fits in the palm of your hand.

Fortnite; blocked by anti-cheat. Otherwise runs nicely. Fuck epic games. Besides, only children who don’t know any better play Fortnite.

Roblox; runs using the Sober client. Better than on windows, according to most Linux players.

Warzone; There are a couple of games called “Warzone”, but if you’re talking about Call of Duty Warzone, the it’s not even in the top 50 games played… And that’s for Call of Duty as a whole. Warzone specifically doesn’t even have an entry in the SteamDB charts top 100 most played games.

Battlefield 6; Eeeyyy, actually a game that’s within the top 50 played games on Steam. Too bad it’s still out-done by Terraria, Cyberpunk 2077, and the likes of Gramblue Fantasy. Yeah, you know, nobody on Linux is missing this one.

Call of Duty; Which one? As in the whole franchise? Yeah, the franchise as a whole doesn’t even make it in the top 50, like I said before. However, most Call of Duty games are just playable on Linux so… Unless you mean something specific, this one is just wrong.

Apex Legends; used to run on Linux, but then EA did a rug pull. So you’re blaming that ln who? Linux, or EA?

Anyway, let’s do a recap. Out of the 6 games you mentioned only 3 have are actually popular (Fortnite, Roblox, and Apex Legends), the others coming nowhere near top 10, or even top 40, with ONE that is in the low 40s (Battlefield 6).

Discarding the other ones as unpopular trash most people don’t play anyway, that leaves us with 2 out of 3 popular games that don’t run on Linux.

From the ones you mentioned, that is.

In the top 10 currently played games on Steam, only ONE is unplayable on Linux. Apex Legends. And it used to play on Linux just fine.

You mean Baldur’s Gate 3? Well, that one runs just fine on Linux. Also has a Linux native build.

CS:GO 2? Also a Linux native build.

DOTA 2? Runs perfectly fine.

Terraria? Linux native.

Palworld? Runs great. Even on Steam Deck.

The Binding of Isaac Rebirth? Linux native.

I’m sure you’re getting the idea. The only ones that didn’t work at all or not as good on Linux are PUBG and Marvel Rivals.

Better battery life, for one. Less background processes. There’s also a big performance difference between a general purpose OS and one specifically designed for a device.

Why? Do they happen to be playing inside a sauna? An oven, perhaps? Maybe it’s not a good idea to take any electronic device in the middle of a desert during summer.

Denuvo used to take months to years to crack. Now Denuvo gets removed from games within days to maybe a week after release. Piracy is winning, alright.

Difficult to measure. A lot, and I do mean a lot, of indie devs on itch.io will likely get the biggest sum of their income from Patreon subscriptions.

From what I’ve heard speaking to some of them, when it comes to succesful Patreons, even a Steam release is peanuts compared to how much money was made through Patreon.
