That’s kind of a silly question.
The whole point is that this is more efficient.
You trade 10% rendered frames for 300% generated frames.

Besides, it’s always an option to just turn it off.
That’s what I usually do. Then I don’t have to give it annother thought.

It makes sense to start a PR war over it, trying to fix HDMIs open source policy.

Both HDMI and display port are at their core, data cables. As long as the noise is low enough to maintain bandwidth, it’ll be fine. The cables them selves don’t have any intelligence to determine one feature over another.

Length matters. Off the top of my head I think the spec is for 16’ max. If you’re dasy changing a pair of 10’+ cables on an adapter like that, you might run into problems.

I haven’t seen any that claim 2.2

There are also cables with DisplayPort on one end and HDMI on the other. No seperate adapter

Yes. Someone pointed out that NTSC standard was 60hz with interlaced frames. Effectively 30fps like your talking about. But that ended with CRTs.

I’m not sure there ever has been 30hz monitors. Going from 60 to 120 is double, just like 30 to 60. Having just made that jump this year, I can say yes,it’s very nice.

Jagged edges are the opposite of blurry. Blur smooths out sharp edges.
When edges are sharp and crisp, that’s when the jagged nature of square pixels is visible.

The screenshot you posted here has lots of blurred edges. Look at the grass, trees, and hair.

There are lots of games you’ll never buy. Because not everything is for you. And that’s a good thing.

Not the actual mechanics, things have come a long way since then. But the concepts. No end game. Mobs that take 100+ people all day to take down. And that last piece of armor you want, has a 2% drop rate off them. And even when it does drop, there are 10 of your class who wants it, and you have to work out who gets it. Levels took so long nobody worried about getting to cap, and just hung out. The grind and the community were the point. Not the next piece of gear.

That’s just growing things.

I have a few little house plants, that were foisted on me by my sister. But by no stretch of the imagination is that at all related to farming.

Even gardening at its most extreme, only might be a hobby farm.

Actual farming, is a whole other kind of annoying. Its just way different when your lively hood depends on it.

I ask because I’ve always had a natural disinclination to anything out in the sun.

Nvidia ceasing to exist is exactly what I’m talking about here.
When people have no choice they’d make ROCm work. It’ll take some extra effort, but it would get the job done just fine.

They’re not what I think of as a “Key Company” for anything.
That would require them to be irreplaceable in some aspect, on any reasonable timeline. But if they disappeared tomorrow, AMD would be able to step in and cover every use people had for Nvidia products.

(Accept maybe the Nvidia Shield. But Nvidia seems to have largely quit that anyway)

The closest thing they have to irreplaceable is CUDA. But AMD has been making leaps and bounds improving their GPU software. It would take the market maybe 6mo, or a year. But it would adjust without much trouble.
